Nokia Launches T20, New Tablet Released After 7 Years Absence

After an absence of about seven years ago, Nokia re-entered the world tablet computer market. The Nokia T20 marks Nokia's comeback in the global tablet industry. For information, Nokia last released its tablet in November 2014, namely the Nokia N1. The latest tablet Nokia T20 made its debut for the European market. Nokia T20 is the first Android tablet made by HMD Global, as the licensee of the Nokia brand. The Nokia T20 tablet features a 10.4-inch (1,200 x 2,000 pixels) IPS LCD panel with a 2K resolution. The Nokia T20 screen with a 5:3 aspect ratio has a brightness level of 400 nits and a screen-to-body ratio of 78.9 percent. Weighing around 465 grams, this tablet has dimensions of 247.6 x 157.5 x 7.8 mm.

When viewed, the screen frame (bezel) on the left, right, top, and bottom is still quite thick. The four edges of the frame on this tablet are also rounded.

The Nokia T20 tablet looks designed to be used in a landscape position. This can be seen from the words "Nokia" on the back which is written in that position, as well as the placement of the front camera. The front camera of the 5 MP Nokia T20 is placed on the longer side, so it looks like a webcam on a laptop.

Turning to the back of the cellphone, the Nokia T20 is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera which is placed in the upper left corner along with an LED Flash module. The back of the Nokia T20 is coated with aluminum and a sandblasted layer. The device is also IP52 certified (drop-resistant from a height of 2 meters). Regarding performance, the Nokia T20 relies on the Unisoc T610 (12nm) chipset. The chip is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage capacity which can still be expanded up to 512 GB via the microSD slot. Each Nokia T20 model is distinguished in terms of connectivity, namely a WiFi only model and a model that can connect to an LTE network (WiFi+Cellular) or use a SIM card. For the power aspect, the Nokia T20 is supported by a battery with a capacity of 8,200 mAh and supports the 18 Watt Fast Charging feature. With this battery capacity, the Nokia T20 is claimed to be able to be used to watch streaming for up to 10 hours or be used for browsing for 15 hours.

Nokia promised to provide Android software updates over the next two years, as well as deliver security updates for four years. Other supporting features include Face Unlock, OZO Audio, Dual Microphone, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, Google Kids Space, Google Entertainment Space, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

In Europe, the new Nokia T20 will go on sale from 11 October 2021 in the Deep Ocean color variant.
